Drop-down Archives Widget

Some themes, such as Kurtina, use a drop-down archive listing. Since I didn’t find a widget to support this, I tossed together a quick replacement.

Hello, Little problem here. When I put the drop down widget always remains the old “archive” widget, so there are two Archives widgets in my sidebar (the normal and the drop down one) lol.

    any help?

It’s due to the localization (language support)… I haven’t had time to fix that yet.

Thank you so much for Drop-down Archive Widget! I find it very useful and sure has helped me “tidy up my act”. I’ve a question: is it possible to make empty parent categories not show the “(0)” next to them? This would be good for cleaning up things even more.

On my blog, I have parent categories with no posts actually assigned to them, *just* their child categories.

Thanx a lot in advance for the reply!

Hi! I’m in the process of converting to wordress 2.1 and suffering with a nasty bug. If I drag this widget into the sidebar and save the original archives widget is even in the sidebar. I can drag it out, but after saving the original widget is again in the sidebar. If I drag this widget outside then even the original widget is disabled. I’m using version 0.2

Like mentioned above, at least once, this is due to localization issues. I have not updated my widgets to support locales other than English.

stormerider, any insights on my earlier question about removing the “0” from empty parent categories? Thanx. 🙂

I was wondering if you might be able to help me with an issue I’m having with your widget. It’s working fine, but when I try to validate my blog, it’s coming back with an error that appears to be caused by your widget. This is only when I select dropdown as the option, which I’d really like to keep. If I deselect that and list everything at once, then it validates fine.

Specifically, the error is “document type does not allow element “form” here; assuming missing “li” start-tag”.

Any help you can offer is very much appreciated. 🙂
